MAN INVOLVED IN HIT-AND-RUN TRUCK ACCIDENT NEAR ATLANTA CAUGHT

Thanksgiving is usually a time for joy and for being thankful for what you have. For one Georgia man, however, it was the day that he may well have ruined his life because of drinking and driving, running from police and then causing an auto accident.

The chase and resulting accident happened early on Thanksgiving morning near Atlanta. The driver was pulled over by a police officer because the officer saw an open container in his pickup truck. Rather than deal with the consequences, however, the man sped away from the police. The resulting police chase initially caused a minor accident when one vehicle moved to try to avoid the pursuit. The driver continued fleeing, ran some stop signs and hit another pickup truck. The truck that was hit was forced off the road and overturned, landing on its wheels. The passengers had to be rescued by the Fire Department and then taken to the hospital. The extent of the injuries was unknown at the time of this writing. Finally, the suspect’s truck went off the road and stopped in front of a fence. There were two passengers in the truck, and one of them was unconscious by the end of the trip.

Anyone who is injured in a motor vehicle accident, caused by the negligent conduct of another person has the right to bring a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent driver. Damages can include medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Drinking and driving is never a good combination. A personal injury lawyer can provide guidance to someone who was on the receiving end of this poor combination.
