WOMAN CRITICALLY INJURED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT NEAR ATLANTA

Driving safely and making sure to be clear of any other traffic when making a turn is one of the most important things a driver can remember. Unfortunately, it appears one driver may have fallen victim to this rule when she was involved in a recent truck accident.

The accident occurred on Georgia Highway 16, near Harper Road close to Atlanta. A 67-year-old woman was critically injured when a tractor-trailer truck hit her vehicle. She was making a left turn when the larger truck ran into her car, trapping her inside. Nine rescuers responded to the accident to assist. The woman was then freed from her vehicle and flown to the hospital to receive care for her injuries. At this point, there have been no charges filed in the accident, but the investigation is apparently ongoing.

Oftentimes when a truck accident occurs the victim in the car sustains more serious injuries, since the car is a smaller vehicle. No matter how the injuries are incurred, however, the victim still might have a long road to recovery, which may involve years of physical therapy before a full recovery can be made, if ever. This means that it is likely that there will be significant medical bills for the initial hospital stay, as well as for physical therapy. To recover for those costs, a personal injury lawsuit could be filed. Even if the driver is unsure about who was at fault, the lawsuit can still be brought and to attempt to recover some compensation.
